Here, you author the steps. LogNormal checks their mathematical validity and the reasoning they expose.

What’s planned for launch?

The working launch plan spans whole-number sense, arithmetic, estimation, equal groups, fractions, rational numbers, equations, inequalities, and bounds. The App Store listing will confirm the final launch library.

Designed primarily for learners 10–16. LogNormal complements parents, teachers, and tutors; it does not claim to replace them or a complete curriculum. Advanced demonstrations on this page are in development.

All 20 questions

What is LogNormal?

Mathematics software for iPhone. Learners question the reasoning in front of them, construct mathematics of their own, and put it to work in interactive situations. Correct answers matter. So does the thinking that gets you there.

Who is it for?

Families looking for more than answer-checking. The starting curriculum runs from place value toward introductory algebra, so the useful starting point is what a learner understands—not simply their school year.

Why Audit, Articulate, and Apply?

Because spotting a mistake, building a solution, and using an idea are different abilities. Audit asks you to inspect and repair reasoning. Articulate asks you to author the mathematics. Apply makes your mathematical decision change what happens. Together, they reveal understanding that a correct final answer alone can miss.

Can a learner take their own mathematical path?

Yes. In exercises with path-aware reasoning, LogNormal checks the mathematical transformation rather than demanding one prescribed sequence. A two-step equation can begin with division or subtraction when either is valid. The accepted transformations depend on the exercise; this is not an unrestricted computer algebra system.

Does AI judge the mathematics?

No. Student work and mathematical judgments are handled by deterministic mathematical rules, not generative AI. The app checks against the rules and supported transformations of the exercise—not a language model’s opinion.

What mathematics is included?

The working launch plan spans whole-number sense, arithmetic, estimation, equal groups, fractions, rational numbers, equations, inequalities, and bounds. The App Store listing will confirm the final launch library.

Is everything shown on this site in the first release?

No. The site also shows where LogNormal is going. Advanced exercises, Play Together, and the parent views are labeled as development work. The App Store listing will be the source of truth for included topics, learner and family features, language availability, device support, price, and purchase terms.

When can we get it?

The paid App Store launch is planned for late September 2026. It is not available for purchase yet. Launch timing and the eventual App Store link live on the Founding Families page.

Launch and Founding Families
How much will it cost?

Founding Families will be the first paying customers to begin with LogNormal at public launch, while the curriculum is focused and continuing to grow. Under the current working plan, they begin at $14.99 USD per month instead of the planned standard $17.99 USD per month. Final price, local currency, availability, renewal terms, included features, and cancellation details will be shown in the App Store before purchase.

Launch and Founding Families
How is my family’s information handled?

The Privacy Policy separates what the website handles from app accounts, device data, and learning records. The Children & Families notice explains the planned guardian protections and remaining release requirements. Those notices—not a blanket claim that everything stays on-device—are the place to check the details.

Privacy Policy · Children & Families
Which devices does it run on?

LogNormal is being built for iPhone. The App Store listing will confirm supported devices and iOS versions for the release you can download.

What does a learner actually do in Audit?

Inspect someone else’s mathematical reasoning, identify what is wrong, and repair it. In the advanced demonstrations, an upstream repair can rebuild the steps that depend on it. That is criticism of the mathematics, not simply picking a different final answer.

How is Articulate different from entering an answer?

The learner builds the mathematical work itself: a grouping, a calculation, or a sequence of transformations. The construction is part of the evidence, instead of disappearing behind a single answer box.

How is Apply different from a worksheet disguised as a game?

The mathematical decision changes the represented situation. A position on a number line aims a laser; an arithmetic decision can restore part of a canopy. The mathematics does a job in the world, rather than unlocking an unrelated reward after a question.

Why does Play Together matter?

It gives mathematics a shared consequence. In the rounding duel, each person’s decision changes the same match, making the reasoning something you can talk about and respond to together. Play Together is in development and is not part of the planned first public release.

What can a parent see beyond a score?

The developing parent views explore patterns across practice areas and over time, including where attention may be useful. The recordings use example data. The final family features will be identified before purchase; a visualization is not a diagnosis.

Does it replace a teacher or a complete curriculum?

No. LogNormal is a focused mathematics product that can sit alongside parents, teachers, and tutors. It does not claim to replace their judgment or an entire curriculum.

Is the Founding Families price permanent?

Whether the founding rate continues as LogNormal grows has not yet been finalized. The App Store terms shown before purchase will control.

Does joining the launch list buy or reserve anything?

No. It is a request for launch email, not a purchase, an invitation application, or a reservation of access or price. The App Store offer and terms at purchase determine the subscription.

Can I ask a question without joining the launch list?

Yes. The question form and launch signup are separate. Sending a question does not subscribe you to launch or marketing emails. Please use adult contact information and leave out passwords and unnecessary details about a child.
